News Audio Response
This audio led me to appreciate the value of local news and the ability of the newspaper, especially the New York Times which is one of the only local business still thriving from the city. I learned that through collecting and studying the news, that one can really get a good sense of the culture and gain insight into the times that the news is reflecting. Before 9/11 the New York times was a small time news paper that only reported stories about rapes, and local murders, yet after the incident, people began looking to the news company as a source for big news stories that actually informs people across the world and not just in the tri state area. A news paper may be considered selling out, but I see it as taking on responsibility that other cities across the country may not have undertaken due to the sheer overwhelming nature of the assignment. But if any city is to do it, where better than New York?
